Lindsay Alexandria Saunders - Velez

Vice Chair of Community and Personal Advocacy

Lindsay Alexandria Saunders-Velez is a former foster child, a youth from the Division of Youth Services. She is now the Founder and Senior Executive Director of the Colorado Justice Advocacy Network, an organization that aims to provides equal access to justice to individuals involved in the juvenile and criminal justice systems, safeguard the rights and liberties of such individuals, and resolve matters in a timely and efficient manner. Lindsay also serves as a member of the Lived Experts Action Panel (LEAP) of the Office of the Child’s Representative (OCR), a stakeholder group through the Colorado Child Protection Ombudsman, a diversity committee member through Colorado’s Court Improvement Project (CIP) and the Second Vice President of JeffCO Young Democrats. She is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Social Work from MSU Denver and has a long term goal of earning a Juris Doctorate.


Lindsay has been recognized by the Colorado Department of Corrections for her outstanding service to justice involved individuals. It's her passion that continues to grow throughout her career to advocate and protect the underdogs in the State of Colorado.
