
Matthew Miranda
Vice Chair of Personal & Community Advocacy
Matthew Miranda is a 25-year-old first-generation graduate with degrees in Political Science and Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Since moving to Colorado in 2021, he has dedicated his life to public service, gaining hands-on experience in politics through internships with State Representative Eliza Hamrick and U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper, contributing to impactful legislation like “SB23-169, Increasing Minimum Age To Purchase Firearms.”
His efforts have earned him accolades like the “2023 Student Leader of the Year” award and the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Award. As Chair of the Boulder County Young Democrats, Matthew has united communities and empowered young voices by tackling issues such as affordable housing and wage increases. He has also led successful political campaigns, including Lafayette Mayor J.D. Mangat’s historic re-election and efforts to enshrine abortion rights in Colorado’s Constitution.
With a passion for advocacy and leadership, Matthew continues to drive meaningful change across Colorado.
