Sophia Johnson

Sophia (she/her) is a 20-year-old activist based in Fort Collins. She serves as the organizer and outreach coordinator for the Larimer Young Democrats. Sophia’s mission is to empower young people in her community through political and sexual education. She firmly believes in the power informed communities hold to disrupt and change government policy for the betterment of our communities.

Sophia’s activism journey started in 2022 when she organized a protest in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Sophia is a passionate reproductive justice activist working as a community organizer in Fort Collins, providing emergency contraceptives and abortion resources. Sophia helped pass Amendment 79, codifying the right to abortion in the Colorado State Constitution.

She is currently working towards a Political Science and Ethnic Studies degree as a first-generation Latina student.
